Starting in 2012 Hiraeth Press will only be accepting poetry sub­mis­sions through our Wild Earth Poetry Prize. If you are an author who has recently penned a poetry col­lec­tion and are inter­ested in sub­mit­ting your man­u­script to Hiraeth Press we wel­come you to enter via this avenue.

A prize of pub­li­ca­tion, 10 com­pli­men­tary author copies and a gen­erous 30% roy­alty con­tract are given annu­ally for two poetry col­lec­tions. To enter submit a copy of your man­u­script of 50 to 125 pages by December 1st, 2012. The entry fee is $10. The win­ning man­u­scripts will be pub­lished in 2013. The win­ning authors will each receive a fea­ture spread in Hiraeth Press’ bian­nual journal, Written River: A Journal of Eco-​​Poetics.

  • To enter, the poetry col­lec­tion must be pre­vi­ously unpub­lished. The author must hold full rights to their work.
  • International entries are wel­come; how­ever man­u­scripts must be in English.
  • A lim­ited number of indi­vidual poems may have appeared in print or online but the poet must hold sole rights to the work.
  • Multiple entries by a single author are wel­come but a sep­a­rate entry forms and fees must be paid for each entry.

For those of you entering by post mail please include the fol­lowing in your entry:

  • The full man­u­script
  • A cover letter
  • A brief bio­graph­ical state­ment
  • Check made payable to: Hiraeth Press
  • Self-​​address stamped post­card (Should you desire con­fir­ma­tion of receipt of your entry.)
  • [Please note:] Manuscripts sub­mitted to the con­test via post mail will not be returned. Please do not send us the orig­inal copy of your man­u­script.
