Trump Tries to Rewrite History of Jan. 6 in Campaign’s Final Stretch
As the 2020 election campaign enters its final stretch, President Donald Trump is attempting to rewrite the history of the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol in an effort to salvage his reputation and rally his supporters.

Despite this, Trump has continued to spread falsehoods about the events of January 6th, claiming that it was a “lovefest” and that the rioters were “very law-abiding people.” He has also attempted to shift blame onto his political opponents, accusing them of exaggerating the violence in order to smear him and his supporters.
This rewriting of history is a dangerous and irresponsible act that threatens to further divide an already deeply polarized nation.
